Armed robbery attempt ends with suspect fleeing
Gerald L. Hicks 26, of 1863 W Paseo Reforma, allegedly stormed the Joshua Tree Back Pocket bar on North First Avenue with a shotgun around 8 p.m. yesterday. An unidentified patron wrested the gun from him and fired through the ceiling, after which Hicks fled. Hicks was later jailed on suspicion of attempted armed robbery and aggravated assault. The gun was returned to police by the bar patron. no charges were filed against him.
