About 35 cases in all of 1977 compare with 19 975 the prior year as the program expands into Mexico with hopes to push the pest beyond the Isthmus of Tehuantepec by 1981 82.

NASA and private firms like Volkswagen plan experiments in weightlessness, including a 1983 telescope launch and bearings research. Separately, the U S Agency for International Development will send $300,000 in initial relief to 75,000 cyclone and flood victims in southeastern India.
In Colorado’s Rockies near zero temps, 17-year-old Charles Randolph hiked three miles to seek help after a Sunday night plane crash that killed C B Cameron. A rescue helicopter spotted him, then airlifted six of seven Oklahoma City residents while the seventh victim was found deceased.
