Vienna reports Dr. Joseph Redlich, former finance minister, says immediate Allied help could revive Austria’s economy and enable self support. He cites food coal cotton metals and raw materials as keys to production and order, warns against further debt and political unrest.
A Berlin dispatch describes a German Austrian plot against peace and an investigation into secret dates and army contracts. It mentions Count Berchtold and Count Coen, and notes a diplomatic probe into Austro Hungarian actions at the war’s outbreak.
Budapest Nov 28 The new suffrage bill will be presented to the national assembly. It grants the ballot to all men 21 and all women 26 who have six years Hungarian nationality and know how to read and write. Electors 24 years old will be eligible to election to the legislature without distinction.
Prime Minister Hughes receives a cable from Treasurer Watt stating the Australian Wheat Board aims to sell 1,000,000 tons at a minimum price of 57 pence per bushel to compete in world markets while reserving domestic supplies.
London November 25 officials announce that Britain's war losses include nearly 1,000,000 men killed or dead from various causes. Earlier figures of 654,794 excluded missing men presumed dead and those who died of illness at the front.
Deep gratitude fills America as Thanksgiving coincides with victory after nineteen months of war. President and Baker praise unity, sacrifice, and democracy as soldiers, sailors, and citizens join in services and homefront support for the armed forces. The White House observes a simple celebration with the president's family present.
NYC observes Thanksgiving with citywide dinners for service members and a 4 PM nationwide victory song. Madison Square Garden hosts a 10 000 voice victory sing and St John the Divine Cathedral holds a major service with military and diplomatic reps. The Associated Press reports that Bavaria has broken relations with the Berlin government. The move, conveyed by a Copenhagen desk message, follows disputes over ongoing activities and Brepereer policies in earlier years.

A Reuters correspondent visited U boat avenue off Harwich where submarines lie in sight. Officers refused details, saying the area held more than a mile of craft towed or staged in threes and fours. A blood stained cat o nine tails was found under a captain's bunk by a British sailor aboard the attack craft.
Marshal Foch with General De Castelneau arrived in Strasbourg and reviewed the occupation army. He rode through the town at the head of the troops and was given an ovation as commander in chief of the allied armies.
Luxemburg date November 28 German forces crossed the Saar in force Sunday moving northeastward. American troops held along the frontier and will stay there at least until December 1.
Murray Baum, about 28, leaped from a third story window of a Rio Rancho hotel in Albuquerque and died on the sidewalk. He had come from New York to visit for a week as despondency over ill health was blamed. Parents said to live in New York with two brothers in Edgewater, California.
Berlin dispatch reports Polish troops recaptured Lemberg after fierce urban combat in Galicia. The Jewish quarter was looted and burned amid heavy casualties to soldiers and civilians. Polish authorities deny pogrom claims and blame terrorists as fighting subsides.
Secretary of the Navy Daniels urges mercy in postwar policy addressing Germany. He cites victorious allies and the need for just, humane peace, insisting against hatred or vengeance while protecting women and children and guiding the world renewal with principle and mercy.
King George arrived at Boulogne and traveled toward Paris to spend the night at Montreuil with British general headquarters. He is due in Paris at 2:30 pm for a reception at the Bois de Boulogne gate. French regiments will line avenues to the Concorde and foreign affairs ministry, honoring the king.
Both chambers approve in principle the formation of a league of nations and a Spanish representative in that organization. The government will soon propose a bill repatriating Spaniards who fought under allied flags.

At a dinner in Paris honoring French air service comrades, the under secretary of aviation reported that among 240 American pilots in the Lafayette squadron sixty had lost their lives. The gathering included noted French aviators Lieut Rene Fonck and Captain Heureux and Italian fliers.
