Reports say Emperor Francis Joseph died after fever and delirium in Vienna a day after illness as King Ferdinand and the German Emperor were due in the Austrian capital. They fled Parral when Villa approached the city and report many Americans remained but mostly got through safely. Webb said he left his family in Parral after arranging their safety.
