Elisabeth Congdon 83 long time Tucson resident and heiress to the Congdon fortune was killed in a Duluth Minnesota summer mansion robbery. The nurse Thelma Pietila 65 also died. Police reported an intruder entered by a basement window and murdered both occupants.

Visit Makes Tragic Pool Death of Citrus Heights Girl
A one year old Citrus Heights girl identified as Dallas Vaughn apparently drowned in a swimming pool at a East Side home in the 355 N Dawn Drive area while her family visited. The girl was pronounced dead at St Josephs Hospital at 8 10 pm 20 minutes after her sister found her in the pool. Police said the mother was inside the house at the time and the duration underwater is unknown.
