Buckeye districts win budget overrides in Phoenix vote

Buckeye Elementary and Buckeye Union High School districts won budget overrides in a Phoenix vote. The elementary override of 50 000 passed 218 to 128 to fund a 10 percent pay raise for staff, raising the tax rate to 3.75 per 100 assessed value. The high school override of 75 000 passed 271 to 232 to fund raises, lifting the tax rate to 2.98 per 100 assessed value.
