In Ohio, Akron residents overflowed East South Street Mission as Rev. A McKinney and Evangelist from Titusville led night meetings. Offerings rose high with women and men offering jewelry, furs, and cash at the altar.
In Spring City Pennsylvania on February 22 the Men and women of Christ Church of the Mennonite Brothers performed a feet washing ceremony as the congregation sang hymns. Candidates came forward in bare feet and bowls of water were used for reciprocal washing. Presiding Elder H. B. Munselmann and pastor Rev. W. J. Freits led the ceremony.
A Cincinnati house will take the donated vestments and assign the best value in money. The Akron resident, who has lived in Akron two years, intends to build a large church in South Akron and has discussed using the envelope for two weeks of wages that were not opened.
Chicago February 22 J Ogden Armour will present a club house and golf links to his employees. The club house costing $15000 will be erected by Armour and the course laid out at his expense. Eighty acres of land at Stony Island Avenue and Mighty Third Street will be turned into the links.
Postmaster General Payne seeks to enforce a new rule removing political influence from fourth class postmaster appointments. The move faces opposition from Congress and party operatives who fear loss of patronage. The President is believed to back the plan, intending to improve efficiency by keeping posts filled by those with clean records regardless of political connections.

He is sixty seven, once called a boodler, now credited with shaping the city’s beauty and growth through his indomitable will. He previously left for Batopilas, Mexico, then found mining fortune.
August Cliff of Chicago and Amelia Cliff were granted a divorce in Mullin's court after he chased her in 1000 miles in an open buggy. Cliff claimed she threatened him with a revolver during marital disputes over money and alleged mortgage burden. Amelia kept a candy store in Chicago and did not appear in court.
Richard C. Davis ex cashie r of Peoples National Bank in Washington Indiana pleaded guilty in federal court to embezzling 75000 and his sentence stayed until April 8. He will pursue suits to recover 38500 alleged lost at gambling. Trials set for Knox Circuit Court next Tuesday against Matthew Kelly Dallas Tyler Addie Dillard Charley Hart and John Brennan with Sheriff backing over 75 witnesses.
A blaze at the Park Avenue Armory and Park Avenue Hotel in New York on Feb 22 caused fifteen deaths among hotel guests and $750,000 in damage. Firemen prevented spread to nearby car barns as occupants were rescued. twenty six were hospitalized and many others treated for injuries and shock. One man died from a fall after leaping from a fifth floor window.
N. W. Bernard of Tucson, chairman of the Pima County Board of Supervisors, attends the Territorial meet of the Shriners in Phoenix. He arrived from San Francisco and will return to Tucson tonight. Governor Murphy, with General MacArthur, traveled west and was to reach Los Angeles today.
James N Keene donated 25000 for storm relief sending 10000 each to the charity organization societies and the United Hebrew Charities Society. He urged aid for those in real need regardless of past actions, emphasizing food and clothing over books and describing the difficulty of reaching proud to beg poor.
