Hayes S. Shaner formerly of Tucson for fourteen years died Friday in Los Angeles at his home. He moved to Tucson in 1963 from Cincinnati and worked in local insurance firms Smith & Shapen and Franklin & Heighton before moving to Los Angeles two years ago. He was a Republican candidate for county recorder. Shaner, despite long illness, was known for his sunny disposition and wide circle of friends during his years in Tucson.
