Examiners oppose Staley electrified railway project
The Interstate Commerce Commission examiners recommended denying Staley’s plan to build an electrified railway line spanning Arizona New Mexico Colorado and California plus a branch into Mexico. They urged that the proposed routes would burden shipping and argued the region is already well served by existing lines. Local officials expect the commission to adopt the examiner’s report.
