Oig son-in-law sues his wife’s mother for damages totaling 90000 asserting harm from actions at the family home. The case centers on alleged misconduct by the mother-in-law during disputes over a will and property.
Howard F. Stacey sues Nell King in New York Supreme Court for $50,000 claiming alienation of his wife Edna Goodrich Stacey’s affections. Mr and Mrs Charles Fair Americans related to Mrs Virginia Fair died when their speeding automobile left the Trouville to Paris road and struck a tree. The chauffeur, driven insane by the shock, was injured. Charles Fair was son of the late ex Senator James Fair of Nevada and brother to Mrs Vanderbilt.
Washington Aug. 14 Commissioner Yerkes directs immediate collection of taxation on profit and loss accounts or undivided profits in banks, trust companies and private banks under the War Revenue Act of June 1888. The estimated amount to be collected is $305 000.
Rev. George Lo McNutt former Indianapolis pastor rails at established church organizations and customs in a provocative series of addresses starting in Winona Lake. Mrs. Ella Riley is jailed in Murphysboro charged with shooting her husband W. H. Riley to death in their home. A coroner inquest returned a verdict that Mrs Riley fired the fatal shot.
