New York Aug. Attorney General Knox and Mrs Knox spent last night in the city and left for Oyster Bay. NASHVILLE Ind Aug 8 While ending to the barn today a horse that had been the family pet for many years suddenly attacked George Wheaton a prominent farmer and pawed him to death. The horse first seized Wheaton by the shoulder and lacerated the flesh in terrible manner. The animal then dragged the man to the barn door and trampled on him until Wheaton's head was crushed three ribs fractured and his hip broken. Members of the family rushed to the rescue but too late.
The United States and Haytien Telegraph Cable Company seek aid from State and Navy Departments to stop the Creten Pierrot gunboat under Admiral Killick from cutting the cable. In Toledo Ohio this morning the infant child of Mr and Mrs Watts of 631 Indiana Avenue died after a three year old sister gave it pills from a bottle the physician attending the mother had left. The child died from the medicine which was too strong for the infant.
