AAP report details Washington awaiting the funeral procession for Warren G Harding. The program includes a ceremonial train arrival, guarded procession, a quiet walk with the casket, a gun carriage salute, and a subdued route to the White House.
Washington August 7 The Harding funeral program lists services in the Capitol rotunda at 11 am with prayers by Dr A Freeman Anderson and Dr James Shera Montgomery. Hymns are sung by Calvary Church Quartets with scripture selections from Psalms Revelation. The cortege order covers military escorts cabinet members senators federal officials and veterans groups.
Manila Aug 7. Fifty Moros were killed and two dozen wounded in a pitched battle near Lake Lanao on Mindanao Island. Three members of the constabulary were wounded as Moro religious fanatics were reported to be planning an attack to avenge 1920 rebel killings.
The latest image of President Harding and Mrs. Harding, likely the last taken before his illness in San Francisco, shows signs of strain from the exhausting western tour. The photograph captures visible effort and fatigue from the high-profile trip.
Marion Ohio August 7 President Harding will not be buried beside his mother and sister. Mrs Harding calls for simplicity. Funeral service to be conducted by Rev J M Landis at Trinity Baptist church. Body to lie in state at the Harding home after arrival until 9 or 10 o clock Friday. Honor guard plans vetoed to avoid military display.
The standing committees of Washington designated an escort of honor to accompany the late President Harding from the White House to the Capitol. The guard will include the newspaper men who covered Harding on his Alaska trip and those stationed at Marion during the 1920 campaign. The committee resolution praises the profession for its service and extends sympathy to Mrs. Harding.

A resolution to grant $72 a month pension to every living Union veteran who served and was honorably discharged, to be submitted to the 57th National Encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic in Milwaukee. Widows would get $50 monthly if they lived with their husbands in the five years before death.
Four men bound and gagged an express messenger on Big Four train No 44 at Peoria Missouri and escaped with five sealed packages and railroad remittances valued at 15000 dollars. The packages were destined for Indianapolis and the loot was valued at fifteen thousand dollars.
