In a separate case Guillermo Lisaldo was found guilty of murder in the second degree for the 1900 killing of Fermina Ochoa and sentenced to twenty five years. Luiz Viera received a three year term for jail breaking, linked to Thomas Hart’s dramatic escape.
Mrs Minnie Lavers hobbied to the Chicago Avenue station seeking a warrant for her husband for stealing her artificial leg. She said jealousy drove the act and that he hid the limb while she slept, but she crawled to a street car to reach police.
