Debate on Pension List and Civil List reforms in Parliament
Lords and Commons clash over royal pensions granted under the civil list. Proponents push to refer pensions to a select committee for inquiry, amid accusations of improper grants and calls for economy. Opponents argue these are legal rights, warn against reopening settled expectations, and emphasize maintaining royal duty and public trust.
