London August 13 1836 advert lists Cumberland wine merchants joiners tool makers dressmakers drapers tea dealers silk manufacturers ivory turners and other trades with Broad Street silversmiths Russia brokers licensed victuallers and butchers. It also notes the average price of Brown or Muscovado sugar at elevenpence three-farthings per hundredweight excluding duties.

An inquest into the death of Miss Jennings, killed by an engine at Serpepline Avenue, found accidental death.
