Better Observance of the Sabbath Petition Drives Lords
On Sunday the Lords met at five as the Lord Chancellor sat on the woolsack. Petitions for stricter Sabbath observance were presented by Lord Ravensworth from Northumberland Wesleyans and by Lord Skelmersdale from Luxford Cheshire. Other petitions from Kilall a Equiskitten Crosmolina Ballina Ireland Warren Hertford urged stronger Sabbath practice. Earl Brownlow and Lord Rolle also backed the cause with county and regional petitions.
