Night School Work At Mine Institute Faces End
A 1905 report details the University of Illinois supplied materials and a two evening weekly night school at the academy with Prof Oliver Coker and Prof Smith teaching arithmetic writing spelling and mine gases. From Jan 6 to May 5 1915 there were 33 sessions 50 students 21.5 average attendance and 14.2 sessions per student. Bernie Moore attended 25 nights or more and 12 achieved perfect attendance. Driver for funding veto by the governor threatens continuation though plans exist for profitable winter night school work.
