New Pension Law Expands Civil War Veteran Benefits

LaPearl Sued For Divorce In Chicago Courts
James H. LaPearl, famed showman, faces divorce action from his wife Nellie LaPearl in Chicago for desertion. The LaPearl circus visited Troy about twenty years ago and evolved from highway to railroad status before touring again. Their romance began in the show with both working together on trapeze, then Nellie became a bareback rider while James led the clown act. After the act grew large the show went broke and LaPearl has since remained in Chisago.
