Protest Over County Courthouse Plans Draws Town Delegations
Taxpayers packed the last Madison County Board of Supervisors meeting to oppose a plan to remodel the old courthouse and fund repairs. Delegations from most townships urged a bond issue for a new courthouse and site donation by Edwardaville, in a 27 to 4 vote accepting resolutions. Also noted were an inquest into a child’s death from strangulation and a burial in Vandalia, Missouri.

Local notices and ads mix with health claims and building project
A chaotic OCR page fragment shows patent medicine pitches promising cures, a new creamery foundation underway with Angus Oere Wing handling brickwork, and municipal notices about electric light payments. It lists vendors, ads for clothing and newspapers, and old paper sales, all from a small town page.
