Collinsville capital offered Troy Pressed Brick Company land and incentives to move a new brick plant to Collinsville but the Troy firm refused and began operations in Troy. Machinery, including a Fernholtz five mould machine weighing 35 000 pounds, arrived and was unloaded while the site on twenty acres of Sherman Park was prepared. A temporary Vandalia railroad switch and planned straightening of nearby curves aim to speed completion for a summer start.

Bradshaw Dies at Home in Edwardsville
William P. Bradshaw of Edwardsville, prominent Madison County lawyer and former education board member, was found dead in his bed at his Edwardsville home around 11:30 Tuesday. Aged 78, he served in the Civil War, practiced law with Dale and Burnett, and was noted as a refined, well-read man and sought speaker. funeral held at Edwardsville.

Death of A J Everett 72 year old St Louis resident
Andrew J Everett father of Joseph S Everett formerly of Madison and Bond counties died at his home in St Louis Tuesday from double pneumonia aged 72. A Kentucky native and Civil War Union veteran, he lived in Madison and Bond counties since 1852 before moving to St Louis. He leaves a wife three sons and two daughters. Interment was in Sugg Cemetery at Pocahontas.
