Losses occur from arrival conditions, freezing or heat, digging timing, and muddy packing. Plants grown on poor soil under cultivation show poor health and brackish roots. An enterprising horticulturist could collect Mazzard cherry seeds to grow seedlings for budding and grafting purposes.
