A slick hill slide left Tommie unconscious with severe head injuries after a fall. Sam E. McKittrick, a former Ithia city resident, broke his right arm above the wrist when skating at Wolf reservoir and slipping on the bank. A two year old Bangert child fractured the arm between wrist and elbow from a lounge fall at home.

Conductor Wise Retired After 34 Years on Vandalia Line
John RaWise of St. Jacob retired under the company age limit after 34 years as a Vandalia passenger conductor. He will receive a lifetime pension equal to 40 percent of his salary. Wise was a familiar figure from St Louis to Indianapolis, often guiding the railroad’s fastest trains. The company honored him by running a special train for President oncaeyelt’s party on this division. He owns a country home near St Jacob and will enjoy retirement.

Louis Barges Passes Away In St Jacob
Lovid Berges, a long time resident and retired merchant of St Jacob, died at home after a pneumonia illness of about a week. Former Troy citizen, he lived in Madison county since 1865 and held public offices in St Jacob. Funeral Tuesday at St Jacob under the Masonic fraternity with Troy Lodge members attending.
