Miner John Dugan Dies in Brookside Mine Fall
John Dugan, 41, a Brookside mine worker, was killed Wednesday at 10 am by a slate fall in room 4 of the 10th cast entry while working alone. Deputy Coroner J E Marks held an inquest. verdict: death by accidental fall. Dugan had traveled widely, lived with his sister in Troy, and planned a civil service exam for railway mail clerk. He leaves a father and three sisters. Funeral held yesterday afternoon.

Two More Mine Accidents Reported In Mining Area
Walter Farren, driver at Donk's No 3 mine, suffered injuries in an early morning incident. While guiding a mule the animal balked, his lamp failed, leaving him in darkness and trapped by the mining box. He sustained hip and side injuries and a forearm wound before being removed to safety.

Death of F W Feldmeier Citizen of Edwardsville
Frederick W. Feldmeier an old Edwardsville resident died at 2:25 a.m. Monday at his home from Bright's disease and related illnesses. He was 80 years, 10 months, 18 days old. Funeral was Wednesday at 11 a.m. at his Commercial street residence with Rev. H Rahn officiating. interment at Oaklawn cemetery. Born February 20, 1825 in Lengerich Germany, he came to the U.S. at 13, lived in St. Louis for 22 years, then moved to Pin Oak township in 1860, farmed until 1898, and retired in Edwardsville. He married first in 1847 in St. Louis. eight of ten children survive: Fred W John Emma wife of Henry Bardermeier Louis August Sophie wife of Louis Prott Louisa wife of John Schen and Minnie wife of Henry Prott. 25 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A brother Louis Feldmeier of Pin Oak and sister Mrs Wilhelmina Moeller of St Louis also survive the first marriage. His second wife Mrs Wilhelmina Bergruber survives. Feldmeier was a respected German farmer with extensive land in Pin Oak and Edwardsville. He belonged to the Evangelical German church and was highly regarded.
