Paducah Kentucky December 22 190? a sensational killing occurred at 9 o clock Thursday morning on the Pryor farm near the city on Benton road Mrs Ella Gholson widow of Will Gholson about 30 shot and killed William Pryor 67 a prominent farmer The widow wanted a big tree cut down Pryor ordered her not to cut it He drove two men away Wednesday claiming the tree was on his land Thursday morning she sent the men back and went with them Pryor again interfered she drew a pistol placed it to his heart and fired He fled 15 minutes later she surrendered herself to authorities.

Dr. John Warner of Clinton Illinois died suddenly Thursday afternoon at age 86. Born in Virginia in 1819, he came to Clinton about 60 years ago and was the father of Pension Commissioner Vespasian Warner. A Civil War veteran, he served as a major and was wounded at Shiloh.
Judge Murray Floyd Tuley, lifelong Cook County circuit judge since 1879 and noted for few reversals by the supreme court, died in Milwaukee on October 31 from nervous exhaustion due to overwork. Born 1827 in Louisville, he was a Mexican War veteran and former New Mexico attorney general. Body to be brought to Chicago for burial.
Sterling Illinois December 26 Attorney F E Andrews for the National Farmers' exchange says the amalgamation with the American Farmers' union is near completion. The combined group will be the largest farmers' organization in the United States with elevators in Illinois Iowa Nebraska Kansas Minnesota and the Dakotas and a Texas Nevada Indian Territory and Oklahoma membership. Capital is $100 million with a new name to be chosen.
Grand Island Nebraska reports George Poell county clerk elect received Roosevelt’s letter announcing the first Medal of Honor under the 1905 act. Poell a locomotive fireman saved a child from a passing engine at personal cost, losing a leg and sustaining serious injuries.
In Paducah Illinois Central tower siege Patrolman James Clark was shot in the hip and John Tice a one legged black man was killed after firing on officers and crowds from his tower on Eleventh and Broadway streets. Scores of bystanders fired back with rifles and pistols ending the standoff.

Ex-Alderman Robert L Rudolph received a one year sentence in the Milwaukee house of correction after being found guilty of soliciting a $100000 bribe from ex City Attorney Charles H Hamilton in 1901 to secure passage of an expers e bill. A stay of execution was granted pending a Supreme Court decision and Rudolph posted $8000 bail.
