The W L Douglas Shoe Co opened a large manufacturing and jobbing building in Monteiro featuring a two story complex 260 by 60 feet. An open house ran 11 am to 8 pm with a Maca Gay orchestra, a Boston caterer, and 15 000 invitations issued. Visitors toured all departments guided by ex Governor Douglas and department heads. The new system promises same day shipment for rush orders and a stock filled jobbing department.
