At the regular Tri City Central Trades Council meeting on Wednesday June 7 1916 Bro John Mellon was unanimously endorsed for the office of Circuit Court Clerk of Madison County Illinois with best wishes.
George W. Crossman of Edwardsville announces his candidacy for Probate Judge of Madison County as a Republican, seeking the primary on September 13 1916. A lawyer and former city attorney and corporation counsel, he is praised as a clean, capable candidate with a strong record of public service.
Council minutes show Mayor Vetter appointing C. P. Edwards as city marshal and Henry Geffen as superintendent of streets with confirmation votes. The meeting adjourned after adjournment motion.
