Former Troy Residents Visit During Circuit Court Week
Two ex citizens of Troy, Jacob Block of Louisiana and Col John Sparrow, attended last week. Block once lived in Troy in 1836 and hadn't visited since 1833, finding Troy unchanged upon arrival. Sparrow, who handled probate business, previously lived in a local blacksmith shop area in 1853, stayed a year, then moved to Shelby County and later Ike, with the circuit court visit marking nineteen years since he last saw the place.
