Mr. James Wilson asserts Nineveh township earns the championship for census growth, a claim he says now belongs to Waverly. In other news, households in Louisville and nearby report births as twin daughters and two newborn sons, balancing family counts.
Local notices recount juries in murder and rape trials. Sum Woods found guilty of rape. Meredith Waters convicted of murder in Lincoln County's first degree case. Circuit court proceedings list larceny, assault, divorce, and other civil decisions with juries impaneled.
James Alexander of Murri cave township died at home after a long residence in the county since 1832. Born in Shelby county Kentucky, he was about fifty eight years old and noted for strict conscientiousness and firm principles. His influence stood firmly for what he believed.
Robert B. Allen of Truxton, aged sixty seven, prominent county citizen, died in his sleep on Tuesday the 5th after recovering from illness. A Virginia native, he moved to St. Charles in 1828 and to the county in 1841. He was a long time Methodist and left a wife and eight children.
W L Fowzx, agent at Laclede Motel Troy Missouri, promotes the Tentine life insurance plan. The Foristell tobacco factory of R A Mey was seized by an internal revenue officer for selling unstamped tobacco and operating without a license. Demonstrations were threatened but prevented by local counsels.
The court began its week with routine business. One jury case arose: Mrs. Lou Floke v. J Creech, administrator of Geo W Floke. Motion to pay over statutory allowance. Trial by jury. Verdict for defendant.

In Olney on Sunday October 4 1875 Sara Dark wife of James Dark died at a young age after a life of Christian faith from Mt Vernor schoolhouse meeting in 1865. She left a husband one child one brother and four sisters to mourn her loss and rests in the hope of eternal joy.
