The Gambler’s Fate in Early San Francisco
In 1851 miner Vanderdecken is shot by gambler Marry Feott in a San Francisco den. Vanderdecken’s daughter Madge becomes entangled with Harry Scott, the killer, and is reduced to a life of shame. Hugh Starling vows vengeance for his father-in-law’s murder, pursues Scott across camps, and ensnares him in a death trap on the American River.
