Longtime Clarke county resident Esquire Joll Blanks, born February 27, 1800, Virginia, died February 25, 1875 at his daughter’s home in Monroe township after pneumonia. He served three terms as sheriff and county collector, leaving four surviving children and a widow who died in 1864. his funeral with Masonic honors was held at Mrs. Thornhill’s residence.
