The Democrats of Lincoln County are called to a mass meeting at the courthouse in Troy on Saturday July 6 1878 to elect delegates to the Democratic State Convention which meets in Jefferson City on Wednesday July 10.
In Troy Mo June 22 1878 candidates met in county clerk's room. A six member canvassing committee was chosen with T J Nalley Dr Brown H S Parker G W Murphy B W Wheeler D C Downing to present the program. Campaigns mapped from June 29 to August 2 with meetings at multiple locations including Bob's Creek Bridge Burr Oak Louville Troy and Chasm-of-Rocks. Several candidates announced for county offices and legislature.
By order of the Lincoln County Court we authorize a loan of funds to residents of Lincoln County Missouri. The loan is for income not less than 200 and for one year from July 18 1878. Borrowers must provide a mortgage on unencumbered real estate and personal security. Applications due by July 18 1878 to County Treasurer Joan McDowann and Attorney Gu Donn.
