Democratic county convention nominates ticket in Lincoln

At Troy on August 14 1876 a Democratic county convention elected nominees for representative justice county court collector prosecuting attorney sheriff assessor treasurer public administrator and county surveyor and chose a central committee. Ballots declared W E Brown Trescott Elmore Ellis Wilson Downing McDonald Wells Wells Murray and Wilson as nominees. Senatorial convention followed selecting Dr Welch for Lincoln county and nominating E A Murray. Republican calls issued for congress and Lincoln county delegates. Ashley Silver Band toasted town with thanks to hotel host and citizens.

Meeting of New County Central Committee Formed

The county central committee met at the courthouse yesterday naming Capt. Richard Waomimack as chairman Judge W. W. Shaw as vice president and Elijah Myers as secretary. A motion provided for a quick committee meeting to fill any disability among nominees and the proceedings were ordered published in the Troy Herald. A No 1 7 octave piano and piano for sale by F. C. Caxg were also listed.
