The Tripoli Jaycees held their charter banquet Sunday evening Sept 12 with about twenty seven attendance. Heine Taylor of Des Moines, past Iowa Jaycees president, spoke on the purpose and projects of the Jaycee organization. Ronald Warner acted as toastmaster with Rev E F Puhlmann giving the invocation and benediction and Mayor George W Barne giving the welcome. State officers were introduced by Robert Gower, and National Jaycee director Donald Vohrees presented the national charter to Don Jaycee.

Local school board race settles with two winners
In Tripoli Hall 452 ballots were cast as four candidates vied for two seats. Ormston won district No. 1 310 to 139 over Mary Re. Heffernan upset by 88 to 14 for district No. 9. Newly elected directors join incumbents and officers sworn Sept 20 at the district reorganizational meeting. Local districts include Bremer and Wright counties with unopposed treasurers in several towns.

Tripoli hosts Firemen and Farmers Day on Sunday September 19 promoted by the Tripoli Fire Department. Denver School Board Considers Tax Shelter Annuities
