In the regular school election on Monday September 1 375 ballots were cast Lynn Wilson won district No 4 against Raymond Bunger by 243 to 122 Clarence Buchholz was unopposed at large with 329 votes and four write ins Treasurer Robert Ambrose was unopposed with 348 votes There were 10 spoiled ballots due to marked checks instead of Xs and the next directors will serve three year terms starting September 19.

Prayer Service Held Monday for Infant Son of James Klemp
A funeral and burial were held Monday for Kenton James Klemp infant son of Mr. and Mrs. James Klemp. Rettig Funeral Home attended the service with burial at Babyland Harlington Cemetery in Waverly. Rev. E F Puhlmann officiated and baptized the infant born prematurely at Allen Memorial Hospital Waterloo Saturday night and who died hours later. Survivors include the parents and grandparents Mr and Mrs R F Klemp and Mr and Mrs Adolph Homan of Waverly.

LaVerne Platte Involved In Minor Route 63 Collision
LaVerne Platte of rural Tripoli was in a minor accident last Wednesday near Highway 63 a mile south of Highway 93. Platte, traveling south, began a left turn and was struck by Adolph Havlik Jr of Elma who was passing. Both drivers reported minor injuries and vehicle damages were recorded at 225 dollars for Platte and 300 dollars for the Havlik vehicle.
