Two Accidents at Highway 93 Hurt Three People
Two crashes at the west edge of town on Highway 93 near the Leonard Axon farm left three injured and property damaged. Will Gebert and Mrs. Gebert sustained facial and head injuries when their 1936 Ford rear‑ended a Crittenden Produce pickup driven by Howard Holm. Holm escaped injury as his vehicle was only lightly damaged. A separate Tuesday morning tire blowout caused Fred Boeckmann minor injuries and 350 to 400 dollars in damage to the Boeckmann car in the ditch.

St Peters Church Sends Heifer to Germany for Heifer Project
St Peters Evangelical and Re formed church bought a purebred Holstein heifer to ship to Germany under Heifer Project Inc. Funds come from church members. J Dancer chaired the local committee. The heifer, from Harold Busse’s Herd in Douglas township, will depart Kalona Sept 29 and head to New York with others before sailing to Bremen for distribution to needy German families.
