A local fair at Faith United Church Briponi featured exhibits in macrame, basketry, aging, geology, carved iron lace, model cars, glass cutting, and leather crafts. Prizes were awarded to Jane Ducker, R. O. Wikner, Brenda Brunner, Ida Mae Grahbricksburg, and others.
A Lutheran will hold a traditional Reformation communion service at Grace Lutheran Church in the language of the congregation. The service begins at 2:00 PM on October 29 with the theme focusing on guidance from church members. Glenn Kappelmann will be present as a participant in the service.
Residents statewide have observed Daylight Savings Time for six months and will revert to Standard Time at 2 AM Sunday morning. Clocks should be set back one hour Saturday night, as Central Time returns to standard scheduling.
Tripoli, led by Duane Meihost and Murray Holm, rolled to a 48-7 win over Denver. The Panthers capitalized on Denver turnovers, with Holm’s early interception setting up two quick scores and Meihost sealing the game with a 55 yard run and a second TD.
The Tripoli Community Chest plans a one day fund drive on Monday October 30 chaired by Duane Bremer. The 1972 goal is 2400 dollars to benefit twelve organizations including the Tripoli Red Cross Boy Scouts and Salvation Army. Volunteers will canvass residential areas and the school faculty to gather gifts.

Tripoli High School vocal department announces the Broadway musical Once Upon A Mattress set for Friday and Saturday November 3 and 4 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $1.25 for adults and 75 cents for students with reservations from chorus members or at the door.
Readlyn burial service for Amanda Kuhlmann age 76 took place at St. Matthew Lutheran Church after her death found at home in Readlyn. Born June 12, 1896 in Maxfield Township she married William Kuhlmann who died in 1970. Survived by two sisters two sons three daughters twenty five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
The Luther Leaguers of Grace Lutheran Church announce a hayride this Sunday October 29 at 7 30 p m Arrangements meet at the church and each participant may bring one guest continuing the church youth activity plan.
Mrs. Malinda Fink remains hospitalized at Mercy hospital in Waverly after undergoing surgery this Wednesday morning.

The International Cultural Exchange seeks a Tripoli area family to host a foreign high school student for six months as part of a youth exchange program. A fall harvest and baked goods auction is set for Saturday night October 28 at 7 30 p m at the Tripoli Sales Barn. A lunch stand will be open. Proceeds go to reduce indebtedness on the Faith United Church of Christ Educational Building in Tripoli.
Tripoli junior high finished the season with a 1 win 4 loss and 1 tie record. Coach John Samuelson praised the seventh and eighth graders for showing promise and developing fundamentals while acknowledging parents for allowing participation.
Third quarter played entirely in Denver territory as Renner ran 4 yards for a TD after a drive that included 2 first downs. Bergmann stopped a fumble at the Denver 40 and Fink added the kickoff conversion to make it 28 7. Panthers started the final quarter strong while limiting Denver to 7 or 8 offensive points.
The Tripoli Jayceettes launched Operation Red Ball to mark rooms with a red ball sticker for children the elderly or handicapped. Stickers were distributed in elementary schools with home instruction sheets. Families may obtain stickers by calling Mrs. Richard Meyer. The Tripoli Fire Department endorsed the project and urged home fire drills and clear escape plans.
