Barbara Brandt Named Queen of Tripoli Homecoming Festivities

Brush Fire Destroys Barn on Emil Roloff Farm
A Friday brush fire on Emil Roloff's farm eight miles west of Tripoli wiped out a barn hog house machine shed and chicken house totaling about 17000 dollars. Waverly fire truck en route carried Delbert Hen ings a Wartburg student who fell from the truck and was treated for leg and arm cuts. Tripoli firemen also responded.

A get acquainted meeting for kindergarten mothers was held in the East building of Tri poli elementary school Tuesday afternoon with 30 mothers present. County school nurse Mrs Keith Carroll spoke on fostering healthier and happier children. Coffee was served in the kindergarten room. Final Rites Today At Siegel Church for Erwin Kappmeyer
Funeral services for Erwin Kappmeyer 43 were held today at St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church in Siegel with Rev. Victor Weidler officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Born September 5, 1920 in Bremer county he was the son of Henry and Emma Dettmer Kappmeyer. Surviving are his widow and four children Karlton Aundrea Kalvin and Kenneth all at home his mother Emma Kappmeyer Tripoli and a brother Edwin rural Waverly.

Funeral Services Held Today for August Thies 79
Funeral services for August Thies 79 who died Saturday were held today at Retting Funeral Home and Faith United Church of Christ Tripoli with burial in Faith Cemetery. The Rev E F Puhlmann officiated. Casket bearers were Carl Buenger Harry Buhr Walter Reding John Sassmann Robert Sievers and J M Snyder. Thies farmed north of Tripoli before moving to Tripoli 23 years ago. He served as sexton of Faith church cemetery for 16 years and as church custodian for 10 years. Survivors include one son Fred two granddaughters and one three year granddaughter and a brother William of Spring Valley Wis. Preceding him in death were his wife Emma in August 1954 two sisters and one brother.
