Funeral Services Held Saturday For Louie Rathe
Funeral services were held Saturday at Grace Lutheran church for Louie Rathe age 64. He died Wednesday at his brother Fred’s home. Rev. W. Gies led the services and burial followed in the church cemetery. Casket bearers were Leslie Heideman Erwin Blasberg Lawrence Arns Hadley Brewer Gus Jaschen and Wilbert Bunger. Survivors include brothers Herman of Tripoli and Fred of rural Tripoli and sisters Mrs Henry Knief of Waverly and Mrs W J Peters of Readlyn. Rettig Funeral Home arranged.

Tripoli Community School will dismiss at 2:00 p.m. Friday October 8 to prepare for homecoming activities. The homecoming parade begins at 2:15 p.m. with buses departing after the parade. Last Rites Held Sunday for Fred Luebs, 90
Funeral services were conducted at Faith United Church of Christ for Fred Luebs born March 26 1875 in Frederika township. He died Thursday at the Denver Sunset Home where he had lived since September 14 194?. Interment was at the church cemetery. Survivors include two daughters Esther Bock and Leota Plagens both of Tripoli six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded by his wife three brothers and two sisters.

Two Waverly Men Injured In Elevator Break
Two Waverly men were injured Tuesday morning when a freight elevator broke and plunged to the ground. Walter Sauerbrei, 65, is in critical condition at Allen Memorial hospital Waterloo with fractures in both legs. Larry Mowatt, 19, is at Mercy hospital Waverly listed in good condition. Both men work at Carver Lumber Co. Waverly and were on a new addition to Clinton Hall at Wartburg College.
