Hog market outlook and price expectations described
Futrell notes summer hog prices at Midwest terminal markets hovering near 20 dollars, with steady strength in the 18 to 19 dollar range into early September. He cautions that a temporary 2 percent year over year gain in federally inspected hog slaughter during early April affects near-term prospects.
