Gary Deitrick aged 31 has started duties as Tripoli's new policeman on March 11 per Police Chief Michael Downs. He and his wife Paulette with their two children plan to move to Tripoli when housing is available. Deitrick previously served nine months with Waterloo Police and four years with the U S Air Force Air Police.

Fire at Don Mager farm home causes $15 000 loss
Tripoli Fire Department responded to a Wednesday afternoon blaze at the Donald Mager farm home located one mile south and two and a half miles west of Tripoli. Eighteen firefighters battled flames that burned the first floor, with an estimated $10 000 in house damage and $5 000 in personal belongings lost. The home was unoccupied at the time and insurance partially covered the loss. Don Mager works at John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works and Nadine Mager is a Tripoli school bus driver.

Plan Relocation Of Refuge At Sweet Marsh
A public information meeting on relocating the Refuge segment within the Sweet Marsh hunting area will be held in Tripoli on Tuesday March 93 at 7 30 p m in City Hall. Dan Sauerbrei, son of Mr and Mrs Leo Sauerbrei, Rural Route 1 Tripoli, was voted the most valuable freshman on Central College’s 1975 76 Flying Dutchmen wrestling squad at Pella. He went 23 17 0 at 142 pounds with fourth place at the Iowa Conference meet and led in two point near falls and riding time while ranking highly in takedowns reversals and falls. Central College, a four year liberal arts school, is affiliated with the Reformed Church in America with campuses in Austria England France Spain Mexico and Wales.
