The Tripoli City Bowling tournament crowned Tripoli Cafe five champions with 4,072 pins, edging Kuhrt's Insurance 3,002. Eugene W Buenger led singles with a 700, as Mark Wilharm shot 697 and 701 in doubles with Larry Busse. Wilharm won all events with 2,003 total. Buenger and Busse also posted standout scores.

The Men's Fellowship of the First Congregational Church sponsored a Father and Son banquet at Town Hall. Ninety men and boys were served, with dinner by the Congregational Women's Fellowship. Dr. L.
