Magnall Proposes New Location for County Fair Grounds
County Fair Board met in Tripoli with Magnall of the Tripoli Commercial Club proposing a city sight for land purchase. Plan requires 10 acres minimum, water, sewer and police services, plus a lease with Waverly for the fair site and park area. The board approved the executive committee plan to lease and demolish and rebuild Livestock housing to expand the 4-H fair facilities. Committees were named to finalize calf, pig and chicken scrambles for the county 4-H fair.

Virtus Stoffregen son of Mr and Mrs William Stoffregen was ordained into the Christian ministry Sunday evening June 19 at John American Lutheran church Sumner with Rev John Johr officiating. He holds a B A in sociology from Wartburg College and a B D from Wartburg Seminary. He served internships at Zion Lutheran Aberdeen and Mission Peace Arapahoe Neb. He will pastor three Sask. churches and be installed July 3. He married August 16 1953.

Denver special report on the death of Mrs Louis J Bitterly 60 who died in Waterloo Iowa after a stroke. Funeral services were conducted in Denver and Cedar Falls with burial in Dennison. She was born Ruth Cole June 12 1891 and married Louis J Bitterly July 19 1925. Survived by husband and sister Louella Cole.

License Examiners Busy Morning in Tripoli
Tripoli Town Hall examiners processed 45 customers on Saturday morning. Four new operator licenses and 26 renewals were issued, plus one new chauffeur license and eight renewals. Four instruction permits granted. one failed written test and one failed driving test. Five vehicle failures recorded, four with no license plate light and one with multiple light issues. Next session scheduled for Saturday July 16 in Tripoli.

Funeral services were held Saturday at St Peters Lutheran Denver for Henry W Kehe 72 who died Wednesday at Allen Memorial Hospital Waterloo of age related complications. Rev C F Hafermann led the service. burial at Fairview Cemetery with casket bearers Ernest Vogel Otto Richmann Albert H Gielau Elda Kehe Alfred Kehe Louis Dorn. He was born December 27 1887 in Maxfield township to William C and Emaline Foelske Kehe. He married Sophie Schumacher February 11 1915 at Denver. He is survived by his wife one son Virgil of Fairbank and six daughters Elsie Kehe Mrs Robert Mastain Mrs Elvira Hebell Mrs John Zingg Denver Mrs Bertha Kehe and Mrs Herman Wehling Denver and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by four brothers Fred William Ernest and Edwin.

Shirley Roettjer Wins State 4-H Blue Ribbon
Shirley Roettjer of the Dutiful Daughters 4-H club won the blue ribbon for better grooming at the State 4-H Better Grooming contest held during the State Girls Convention June 7 to 10 at Iowa State University. Thirty four county contestants competed. Bremer county selected Shirley as its blue ribbon representative and she earned a trip to the convention. Parents Mr. and Mrs. Lavern Roettjer reside in Waverly Route 3.

The schedule for the second week of the six week period lists daily activities.
