Commissioning Service Set Sunday for Liberia workers
A commissioning service will be held Sunday July 29 1973 at St John s Lutheran Church Denver Iowa for Mr and Mrs Norman Jaschen and their daughters as they prepare to leave for a three year literacy mission in Liberia with Lutheran Bible Translators A luncheon reception will follow. The Jaschens have raised funds and plan to depart by late August joining about 19 other workers in Liberia The couple are former Northeast Iowans with strong family ties in the region. Also area students named to the spring Dean s list at the University of Northern Iowa are listed with their towns and names.
