Funeral services for Mrs Albert Green held in Tripoli

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Rettig Funeral Home Tripoli for Mrs Albert Green 48 of rural Tripoli who died of an apparent heart attack Saturday in Mercy hospital Waverly. Rev W D Weidler conducted the service and burial was in Fairview cemetery Cedar Falls. She was born May 25 1919 in Cedar Falls daughter of Howard and Bess Wright. She married Oct 18 1935 in Weatherford Oklahoma. Survivors include her husband two children a son Tom 16 and a daughter Debra 15 at home her mother Mrs H O Wright Cedar Falls three sisters Mrs Joe Olejniczak Charles City Mrs Stanley Brown and Mrs Irvin Baldwin both of Cedar Falls and two brothers Claire of Waverly and Gail of Janesville.

The Tripoli budget calls for 121 298 in total expenditures with 43 216 to be raised by taxation. Unencumbered balances total 43 878 and income other than taxation is 34 200. Millage totals 28 mills with taxes per 1000 of assessed value at 28.00 and a hearing set for Aug 7 at 7 00 pm in Town Hall.

Iowa Highway Patrol Examining Team Serves 88 Saturday

The license examining team of the Iowa Highway Patrol served 88 persons Saturday morning in the Tripoli Town Hall. They issued 57 operator licenses, 15 chauffeur licenses, four instruction permits and 12 temporary driving permits. Additionally 13 driving tests and 11 written tests were conducted.

THS Girls Softball Sectional Play Opens In Tripoli

THS girls softball opened sectional tournament play with an 11 4 win over Denver at Hudson site. Glenda Matthias earned the win as Tripoli totals nine hits and three errors while Denver managed six hits and seven errors. Weather forced a Tuesday delay. action resumes Wednesday at Tripoli Ballpark with Plainfield vs Nashua at 7 00 p m and Tripoli vs Wapsie Valley at 8 30 p m.

Tripoli Harvest Festival Crowned Winners at Climax Event

A large Tuesday evening crowd watched the twelfth annual Tripoli Harvest Festival climax on July 17 and 18. Prizes totaling over 700 dollars were awarded, sponsored by the Tripoli Commercial Club, with activities including a kiddie parade, flower show, rides, and free acts by Royal United Shows. THS band performed before the Tuesday acts and the sweepstakes trophy went to Women's Fellowship of Faith United Church of Christ for best overall flower arrangement. The full division winners feature many entries from local circles and churches.

Pastor Arm in Haeussler Dies in Chicago

The death of Rev. Arm in Haeussler occurred Sunday in Chicago. Funeral services were held Tuesday. Rev. Haeussler served multiple churches in Iowa Illinois and Michigan. His father once pastored St. John’s E R church in Siegel where the family lived for years.

Extension Council Budget Estimate For 1968 Published

The Bremer county Extension Council proposes a 1968 budget of 22 675 in expenditures with 19 175 to be raised by taxation an encumbered balance of 3 525 and no other income. The 1967 budget set 22 350 in taxes making this year's request 3 175 less. A public hearing is set for Aug 2 at 9 00 p m in the county Extension office Tripoli for taxpayers to speak for or against the budget.
