His wife Jane Welsch died in 1926 and his son William Ede and daughter-in-law resided with him.

Mrs. F. C. Schwem Hurt In Collision Near Knittel Corner
Mrs. F C Schwem suffered two deep cuts on her forehead and a cut on the arm while her husband received a bruised shoulder when their car was struck by another vehicle six miles south of town on the paving at Knittel corner. The Schwems had stopped to let an eastbound car pass. as Mr Schwem crossed, a McGregor owned car from the east collided, spinning their car. Mrs Schwem required stitches. Mr Schwem had minor shoulder bruises.

Car crashes into store window injuring man on Bremer Ave
Herman Propp suffered a severe leg gash and other cuts when his car, left in gear, lurched forward and struck the J. M. Taylor store on east Bremer avenue Saturday morning. The large plate glass window was demolished. Propp remained off duty and was under a physician's care.

Waverly friends report the death of Allen H. Clark formerly of this city at his Los Angeles home on June 27 from inhaling gas at a fireplace. He once ran a local grocery business and married Miss Lillian Ellis who died years ago. Survived by two daughters Mrs Jessie Clark Hasse of Iowa Falls and Mrs Marian Clark Henderson of Montreal, who cared for him. Burial was in Los Angeles.

Death in Corn Crib From Heat Strikes Local Family
William Struckmann of this area was found dead Friday morning in a bed inside a corn crib at his home after a period of illness and extreme heat. The heart attack, triggered by heat, was the cause. Infant loses thumb to bath wringer accident
Janice Frese two year old daughter of Mr and Mrs H C Frese sustained a severe thumb injury last week when her hand was caught in a bath house wringer while her sister wrung a bathing suit. She was rushed to Mercy hospital where doctors amputated the thumb at the first joint.

Arrest of Sumner Man for Disturbing Peace and Home Brew
