The Tripoli Leader is the official Tripoli Iowa and Bremer County publication since 1894. It is a weekly paper edited by Robert J. Sassman and published by William A. Buckley with second class mail status and subscriptions set at 8.50 in Iowa and 4.50 elsewhere.

He warns higher taxes could drive motorists to neighboring states, notes highway funding figures, and upholds existing road money while disputing claims of industry opposition to the freeway system.

Bremer county Farm Bureau women sponsor a two year teaching scholarship for high school graduates living on a farm in the county. Applicants must be in the top third, pursue teacher training with field practice, and show financial need. Applications due Feb 20 at the Waverly Farm Bureau office. district finalists to be interviewed in Des Moines in April.
