Grace Lutheran church held its annual meeting with William E. Mueller presiding. New officers and four council members were installed. The pastor reported 1955 attendance figures, membership totals, and a 1956 budget of 11 612 for the current expense fund with a 300 bonus and 10 percent salary rise for the pastor. Over 24 797 89 in contributions were recorded across funds, with more than 10 000 toward building fund bonds redemption.

Funeral Tuesday for Danial F. Stevens Heart Attack Victim
Danial F. Stevens 56 of Tripoli died Friday of a heart attack at Gas Bull Implement Co. in Waterloo. Funeral services were held yesterday at Chapel of Memories with VFW Post 3983 La Porte City conducting graveyard rites. Stevens, a WWI veteran, leaves wife Lillian Sorensen Stevens, a son Ronald Waterloo, a daughter Mary Lou Gibbons Waterloo, four grandchildren, a brother, a half brother, and four sisters. The north wall will be removed to merge storage into the office, a new floor laid, and a plate glass window installed at the street entrance. Voters to Ballot at 13 Polling Places for School District
A special election on Monday January 30 will decide if the Tripoli Community School District should be established.
