County Engineer Oscar Hahn was rehired on a temporary basis for the coming year after a County Board of Supervisors meeting last week. The board granted salary increases to maintenance and construction workers, but did not mention Hahn’s pay, previously $5,500 per year. W W Saylor Dies At Waverly Hospital
W W Saylor, 93, former state representative and mayor of Waverly, died last Wednesday at Mercy hospital Waverly from shock after a fractured hip from a bedroom fall. Services were held Friday at Kaiser's funeral home in Waverly. Born December 22 1858 in Pennsylvania, he later settled in Waterloo and then Denver before moving to Waverly with Kathryn Winner. he is survived by son Lynn and granddaughter Carolyn of Chicago.

Otto Zars 62 died Saturday while working on the Werner Matthias farm three miles west of Denver, of a heart attack. He had farmed near Klinger and later lived with daughter Mrs. Charles Dorn near Denver. Services were held Tuesday at 1 45 p m at St John's Lutheran Denver, Rev A H Mette officiating. Burial at Fairview cemetery. Born March 15, 1889 in Bloomington IL he was son of Carl and Mrs. Zars. He married Clara Piehl April 9 1917 at Klinger church. Survivors include wife a son Rein hart Readlyn a daughter Mrs Charles Dorn four grandchildren and four brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Louisa Fink, 82, longtime Tripoli resident, died Tuesday night after a nine month illness and a recent stroke. She lived in Tripoli over 50 years. Funeral services were Friday at 1:45 pm from Meier funeral home, at St. Peter's Evangelical and Reformed Church, Rev. Theo Blaufuss presiding. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Survived by three sons Louis and Fred of Tripoli and Dr. Edwin of Alameda, California. A longer obituary to appear in the Leader.

Henry Everding 87 Dies at Home in Tripoli Iowa
Henry Christian Everding 87 died at his Tripoli home at 12 30 a m Thursday after four weeks illness due to a stroke and old age. Services were at Meier funeral home and Grace Lutheran church with Rev Wm F Goetz in charge and interment in the church cemetery. He was born February 12 1864 in Oberwheren Germany and came to the United States as a child. He married Sophia Clausing October 23 1887 and the couple farmed in Warren township before retiring to Tripoli in 1917. Surviving are his wife five children 20 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
