Corydon’s oldest resident John Stromsten died December 25 at Wayne County hospital at age 101. A renowned photographer in southern Iowa he also authored an engaging autobiography about his life, written about 30 years ago.

Rare albino horned owl found by Perry trapper
Claus Meier of route 2 Perry trapped a rare albino horned owl on a fence post using an owl trap. He notified Conservation Officer Louis Lempke of DeSoto who alerted Boone authorities. The bird is housed in a cage at Boone game farm for display.
