The Tripoli Pantherettes captured the girls sectional crown with a 68 to 60 victory over Fredericksburg after advancing by beating Denver 71 to 63 and ousting Greene 74 to 54 in earlier rounds. Theodore Peters Funeral Rites Set for Thursday
Funeral services for Theodore Peters age 75 who died Monday at Tripoli Nursing Home will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at St Matthew's Lutheran Church Readlyn with a 1:50 family prayer preceding. Interment in St Matthew's Cemetery. Peters born July 28 1894 was a retired Tri Poli area farmer. Survived by widow Ella two daughters Mrs Leo Schuldt Tripoli and Mrs Eric Harms Readlyn one son Victor Tripoli two sisters Mrs Linda Westendorf Waterloo and Mrs Herman Pipho Tripoli and 13 grandchildren.

Final tabulations show 2019 dollars raised for a hunger hike in Sumner. Of the total 4112 percent went to CROP for overseas aid, 958.00 to Rev Wilbert Trushim in Waverly, 15 percent to American Freedom From Hunger Foundation in Washington DC, and 4212 percent for local use at First National Bank of Sumner to aid families affected by tragedies. Bloodmobile collects 109 pints in Tripoli drive
Waterloo Regional Red Cross Blood Center units in Tripoli town hall gathered 109 pints of blood in Tuesday afternoon session. Of 125 donors, 16 were deferred for medical reasons and 18 appointments were missed due to illness. last year 113 pints were collected. Cooperative Tri Poli Red Cross Chapter and Tri Poli VFW Post organized the drive.
